Available now — real, tested verification collateral, not a roadmap placeholder.

Verification IP is not safety-rated. These are testbench components — no ASIL target, no FMEDA, no IP-XACT, no safety-mechanism interface. They exist to help you verify a design, not to carry a safety argument. The safety soft-IP catalog is over here.

The deliverable

What you get

Bus-functional model
An independent driver for the protocol, written clean-room from the public specification — not derived from our own RTL, so it is a genuine second source.
Passive protocol checker
A monitor that watches the bus and asserts the spec’s rules continuously, so a violation fails the run where it happens rather than downstream.
Self-checking interop testbench
A one-command testbench that drives the model against real RTL and hard-checks the result — reproduce every claim on day one.

An independent ULPI PHY-side BFM plus USB 2.0 packet-level encode/decode, written clean-room from the public ULPI 1.1 and USB 2.0 specifications — not derived from the catalog’s own usb2_dev link-controller RTL — driving usb2_dev directly over its real ULPI pins as a true second source. Exercises a genuine device-side token+data+response packet exchange at Full-Speed on a control endpoint: a SETUP+DATA0 transfer into the DUT (independently CRC5/CRC16-framed, DMA’d into the EP0 RX FIFO, read back over APB) and an IN-token-elicited DATA0/DATA1 response captured and independently decoded off the DUT’s own TX pins. Ships a passive protocol checker with its own from-spec CRC5/CRC16 implementations that independently validates PID legality and CRC framing on both ULPI directions, proven by two directed bad-CRC5/bad-CRC16 injections the checker catches even though this DUT’s own v0.1 release does not check either. This VIP’s own build surfaced and led to fixing a real defect (2026-07-09) in usb2_dev‘s EP0 IN-transfer datapath that silently dropped the last byte of every IN-transfer payload. Scope is deliberately a packet-level pass, not full enumeration: no SET_ADDRESS/GET_DESCRIPTOR state machine, no ACK/NAK/STALL handshake exchange (usb2_dev v0.1 does not generate handshakes), and no High-Speed chirp/negotiation (Full-Speed only).

Verification IP is testbench collateral and is deliberately not safety-rated: no ASIL target, no FMEDA, and no IP-XACT descriptor. It carries no functional-safety claim.
